3. Instructions for the Registry shall be drawn up by the Court. 4. The staff of the Registry shall be subject to Staff Rules and Regulations drawn up by the Court. Rule 21 Appointment and Term of Office of the Registrar 1. The Court shall appoint its Registrar. 2. Candidates for the position of Registrar shall be of the highest moral standing and shall possess the necessary legal, administrative and linguistic knowledge and experience for the discharge of the function s linked to the post. 3. The Registrar shall be appointed for a term of five years. He/she may be re-appointed. 4. The process of recruiting the Registrar shall be conducted in accordance with the procedure established by the Court and consistent with the norms of the African Union. 5. The applications shall include all relevant information concerning the applicant, and in particular, information as to age, nationality, sex, current occupation, academic qualifications as well as the knowledge and experience required in sub-rule 2 above. Rule 22 Appointment and Term of Office of the Deputy Registrar 1. The Court shall appoint a Deputy Registrar. 2. The provisions of Rule 21 of these Rules shall apply to the appointment and term of office of the Deputy Registrar. 14
