the potential for child marriage, States Parties should take all feasible measures to ensure the special protection and care of children affected by conflict and mitigate the effects of conflict on children.39 Children must be prevented from taking part in hostilities.40 Maximum efforts should be made to ensure the return to safety of any children abducted or forced into a marriage. [56] Noting that children with disabilities are at increased risk of child marriage, States Parties should take special measures to protect children with disabilities against child marriage. Reasonable accommodations should be made to ensure that children with disabilities can access and use educational, health and other social services and enjoy and exercise rights on an equal basis. [57] Special measures should be taken to ensure that children in child headed households receive necessary social assistance and are protected from the risk of child marriage.
