Solemn Declaration
1.
After the first election, the Judges shall, at the first session of the Court and in the
presence of the Chairperson of the Assembly, make a Solemn Declaration as follows:
“ Ls ssssssssss09299999009900097 DO SOlemnly swear (or affirm or declare) that | shall faithfully
exercise the duties of my office as Judge of the African Court of Justice and Human
Rights of the African Union impartially and conscientiously, without fear or favour,
affection or ill will and that | will preserve the integrity of the Court.

The Chairperson of the Assembly or his/her duly authorized representative shall
administer the Solemn Declaration.

Subsequently, the Solemn Declaration shall be made before the President of the
Court.
