Part Four RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE AFRICAN COURT CHAPTER I GENERAL PROVISIONS The Commission shall consult with the Court before the modification of any of its Rules relating to their relationship. Rule 114 Complementarity with the African Court 1. Pursuant to Article 2 of the Protocol, the Court shall complement the protective mandate of the Commission as provided for in Articles 30 and 45 (2) of the African Charter. Rule 116 Interpretation of the Charter by the Commission 1. The complementarity relationship between the Commission and the Court is set out and organized by Articles 5, 6(1) & (3), 8 and 33 of the Protocol. Rule 115 1. If the Commission is requested to interpret the Charter under Article 45(3), it shall immediately inform the President of the Court.
