(5) The advocate for a party shall file with the Registrar a
certificate that he or she is entitled to appear before a superior
court of a Partner State.
(6) A representative of a party other than an advocate shall
for purposes of this Rule file with the Registrar proof of his or
her appointment as such representative.
(7) (a) subject to any law by which any right or cause of
action is extinguished by the death of a person,
proceedings before the Court shall not abate
upon the death of any party.
Change of
advocate
(b)
where the death of a party occurs during the
continuance
of
proceeding,
the
legal
representative shall take over the proceedings.
(c)
where no legal representative is appointed within
a reasonable time, the surviving party may, with
leave of the Court, proceed ex parte.
18. (1) A party may, change its advocate but shall within
seven (7) days of the change, lodge with the Registrar notice of
the change and shall serve a copy of such notice on each party.
(2) When there is a change of advocate, or when a party
decides to act in person having previously engaged an advocate,
where judgment has been passed, such change or intention to act in
person shall not be effected without an order of the court upon an
application with notice to the advocate on record.
(3) Where a party to any matter changes his advocate
or, having been represented by an advocate, decides to act in
person or, having acted in person, engages an advocate, he shall,
as soon as practicable, lodge in the Registry a notice of change
and shall serve a copy of such notice on the other party or on
every other party appearing in person or separately represented,
as the case may be.
