DECISION 71.The Court declares: i. That the Application meets the requirements for a default judgment under Article 90 (4) of the Rules; ii. That the Respondent State violated the Applicant’s right to liberty; iii. That the Respondent State violated the Applicant’s right to be heard within a reasonable time; iv. That the Respondent State violated the Applicant’s right to work; v. That the Respondent State violated Article 1 of the Charter; vi. That the Respondent State did not violate the Applicant’s right to equality before the Law; vii. That the Respondent State did not violate the Applicant’s right to equal protection of the law; viii. That the Respondent State did not violate the Applicant’s right to nondiscrimination; ix. That the Respondent State did not violate the Applicant’s right to protection from torture, cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment and punishment; x. That the Respondent State did not violate the Applicant’s right to life 72.The court orders the Respondent State to: a. Calculate and pay all salary arrears and other entitlements owed to the Applicant from March 2015 to the date of judgment. b. Pay the sum of ten million naira only (NGN 10, 000,000), to the Applicant as compensation for the violation of his rights. 32
