 belonging to a group established in violation of the provisions of the law and with the intention of flouting the provisions of the constitution and the relevant laws as well as violating personal freedoms and targeting foreign tourists and the police as well as tourist installations;  premeditated murder, attempted premeditated murder, damaging property, illegal manufacture and possession of explosives and car robbery. Articles alleged to have been violated 36. The Complainants submit that the rights of the victims under Articles 4, 5, 7 (1) (a), (c) and 26 of the African Charter have been violated. Prayers 37. The Complainants seek the following reliefs: a. Recognition by the African Commission that the rights in the above mentioned articles in the Charter have been violated; b. An order for compensation in respect of the violations of the rights of the victims; c. Harmonisation of the Respondent State‟s legislations in line with the Guidelines and Principles of the Rights to a Fair Trial and Legal Assistance adopted by the African Commission; d. Ensure that the appropriate mechanisms are implemented to avoid the reoccurrence of similar human rights violations. 11
