Revised Guidelines for the Consideration of Communications
‘‘Communiqué’’ means any statement of the Committee released to the public.
‘‘Constitutive Act’’ means the Constitutive Act of the African Union.
‘‘Executive Council’’ refers to the Executive Council of the African Union.
‘‘Guidelines’’ refers to these Guidelines for Consideration of Communications
submitted under Article 44 of the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of
the Child.
‘‘Member State’’ means a member state of the African Union.
“Peace and Security Council” means Peace and Security Council of the African
Union
‘‘Secretariat’’ refers to the Secretariat of the Committee.
‘‘Secretary’’ refers to the Secretary of the Committee.
“Session’’ refers to the statutory meetings of the Committee. This includes Ordinary and Extraordinary sessions.
‘‘State Party’’ means a Member State which has ratified the African Children’s
Charter.
‘‘Specialised Organs’’ refers to specialised organs put in place by the African
Union or the United Nations.
‘‘Third Party’’ refers to any other party other than the complaining or defending
parties
