Rule 51
Filing of Documents
1.
The Court may, during the course of the proceedings and at any other time the
Court deems it appropriate, call upon the parties to file any pertinent document
or to provide any relevant explanation. The Court shall formally take note of
any failure to comply.
2.
All documents filed before the Court and transmitted to the parties shall be
signed by their authors.
CHAPTER IV: ORAL PROCEEDINGS
Rule 52
Hearings
1.
Subject to the provisions of Rule 30 (1) of these Rules, the Court may hold a
hearing on its own accord or upon the request of a party.
2.
Pursuant to Article 10 (1) of the Protocol, the Court shall conduct its
proceedings in public. However, the Court may hold its hearings in camera if,
in its opinion, it is in the interest of public morality, public order or the physical
and moral integrity of the parties and witnesses.
3.
Cases where the disclosure of the identity of a child may compromise its best
interests and wellbeing shall also be heard in camera.
4.
Whenever the Court orders that any proceedings shall not be conducted in
public, the Court shall give reasons. The parties or their legal representatives
shall be permitted to be present and heard in camera.
Rule 53
Fixing the Date of Hearing
Where the Court decides to have a hearing, the President shall fix the date for the
hearing. The Registrar shall notify the parties accordingly.
