On 20 September 2012, the Working Group, jointly with five other special procedures mechanisms, transmitted an urgent appeal to the Government concerning the alleged secret detention of Mr. Diomi Ndongala, in Kinshasa. Mr. Ndongala was reportedly arrested on 27 June 2012 and placed in secret detention by the information services in Kinshasa. No response has yet been received from the Government. Since its establishment, the Working Group has transmitted 53 cases to the Government; of those three cases have been clarified on the basis of information provided by the source, six cases have been clarified on the basis of information provided by the Government, and 44 remain outstanding.
