The e-payment initiative is a perfect example of public-private sector partnership,
which creates an enabling environment for a coherent and unified system of
payment that not only promotes universal access of payment but improves service
quality too. Moreover, confidentiality and transparency of the transfer of funds is
enhanced. (Electronic payments are easy to trace and monitor, when compared to
the cash-based payments). This project will also contribute in the reduction of
transactional costs and facilitate and expedite Customs clearance.
