The
Registry shall be headed
by a Registrar who,
under the direction of
the President, shall be responsible for the non-judicial aspects and
servicing of the Court. The Registrar shall be the principal administrative
and accounting officer of the Court, and shall ensure that proper books of
accounts are kept in accordance with the financial rules and regulations of
the African Union.
The Registrar and Assistant Registrars shall be persons of high moral
character, be highly competent in and have extensive practical managerial
experience.
The Registrar shall be assisted by such other staff as may be necessary
for the effective and efficient performance of the functions of the Registry.
The staff of the Registry shall be appointed by the Court in accordance
with the Staff Rules and Regulations of the African Union.

A Victims and Witnesses Unit, which shall provide, in consultation
with the Court and the Office of the Prosecutor, as appropriate,
protective measures and security arrangements, counselling and
other appropriate assistance for witnesses, victims who appear
before the Court and others who are at risk on account of testimony

the management of trauma.
